Osage / Wenge Take down
some shots of my latest take down with Osage / Wenge riser and Osage /Wenge spliced belly lams. Core is bamboo and black glass on back . Came in over weight at 55# [50#] but is very smooth to draw and also very quiet even when shooting either split or 3 under.Puts an arrow out there too!

Re: Osage / Wenge Take down
It has nice flowing lines and the contrast between the timber is striking. Nice!
There is no use focusing on aiming if you don't execute the shot well enough to hit what your are aiming at.

Heh heh I do take ordersmetalhead wrote:Wow that bow looks amazing. I want it.
thanks Mick, thing to remember though is that even though it is sprayed with UV stable finish the Osage will darken to a deep brown with constant exposure to sunlight.Still very attractive when it does.

Re: Osage / Wenge Take down
meanwhile here is one that IS for sale Purple heart/ Charcoal actionwood riser and Zebrano/ purple heart belly lams, boo core. It is 50# at 28'' and is 62''NTN. Again the purple heart will also darken with constant sun exposure. All take downs come with written warranty, custom Astro flight string by Steve Wallace from Wallace Woods, limb socks, allen key and bow stringer, optional woolly silencers, and are very reasonably priced for a custom take down. Re: Osage / Wenge Take down
Iv seen these bows and they are beautiful. I wish I would have saved my money on buying s hoyt buffalo and spent it on one of these!
Re: Osage / Wenge Take down
Beautiful Bob, just beautiful, it's a bit of a shame the Osage will darken up but it will still look great.
That's one good thing about Conkerberry it tends to keep it's yellows even with weathering but you can't get big chunks like that to work with.
Great stuff Bob.
Cheers, Rob.

Re: Osage / Wenge Take down
It is a bit of a pity Rob about osage darkening, but I still like the chocolate colour it can go. I have a small pile of conkerberry in my workshop, the biggest of which is about 3'' dia and doubt I will get enough of the real 'painted' sections to be of much use/ On the up side some has a pearly white colour which will contrast nicely with darker timbers.Never mind Jeff, as Rob says it will darken enough so you wont have to wear sunnies if you see it.
