Animal themed bows
Here's a couple I knocked out recently, when asked which timbers they would like, the clients both responded with requests for the colours of certain animals. I like this idea because it gives me a palette of colours to work with.
The timbers in the first one are inspired by the wedge-tail eagle.
Stats; Flatline MC2, 62'' n-n, 45#@28".
The outside of the riser is Black Gidgee and represents the colour of the bird in general.
The inside of the riser is Sandalwood and represents the colour of the undercarriage of the bird.
The grip overlays are supposed to represent the eyes. Conkerberry and Aust Ebony.
The colour under the wing. Light toned Tasi Blackwood.
The colour on top of the wing. Very dark Tasi Blackwood.
I'll put the pics of the other bow in the next post.
Rob.

Re: Animal themed bows
Well if someone gives you a lump of seriously black Australian Ebony what are ya gona do?
I'll give you three guesses what animal was the inspiration for this bow .
Stats; Flatline Raptor, 58" n-n, 31#@28".
Timbers;
Riser Australian Ebony, Silver Ash.
Limbs: Black Palm.
Difficult bow to photograph due to the high gloss finish, it wont be hunted with.
Cheers, Rob.

Re: Animal themed bows
If I ever tire of my longbows and semi-recurves and decide I want the recurve of my dreams, 'the Raptor', I'll know where to get it.
There is no use focusing on aiming if you don't execute the shot well enough to hit what your are aiming at.
Re: Animal themed bows
Very nice Rob as per the norm After you make my spare set of limbs for my MC2, put me on the list for a Raptor
