One for the ladys
Here's a Raptor I made for a lovely lady in NSW somewhere. I think it's quite pretty.
It's 40#@28"
The timbers are:
Riser; Silver Ash, Sandalwood, Miva mahogany.
Grip overlays; Sandalwood, Slvr Ash, Lacy She Oak.
Limbs: Back; Lacy She Oak. Belly; Slvr Ash.
String groove overlays; Orange Boxwood (Desert Oak)
Nock tips; White phenolic, Sandalwood, Orange boxwood.
Cheers Rob.

Re: One for the ladys
I like it very much. It has nice clean lines and the timbers seem to complement one another. It looks like it's quite short. Just how long is it?
Once again, it's as much a piece of art as it is a good working bow. The new owner is one very lucky person, IMO.

There is no use focusing on aiming if you don't execute the shot well enough to hit what your are aiming at.
Re: One for the ladys
Man you set the bar high. The lacy she oak looks great in contrast with the silver ash. Once again a first class bow from your stable....

Re: One for the ladys
Thanks blokes.
Mick, it's 58", looks a bit short cause the string hasn't been shot in (stretched) yet so the brace height is about 9 1/4'' in the pics.
Gday Macca, How's that bow going?
Hey Rod. Here's a thought,,,, the higher the bar, the longer the run up.

Re: One for the ladys
I'm hearing you Rob, but if I had a run up from the black stump to here I still couldn't reach the bar (might be carrying too much spare weight ). Thats why I'll stick to knock around hunting bows for probably as long as I keep running or walking leisurely might be more the case .Flatliner wrote:

Rob the bow is going great guns, luv it, it's put a few goats (maybe a lot) on the ground now with one very nice pig. Sometimes I think your bows just look to pretty ha ha .
Cheers Macca.

Rob
I reckon you've outdone your self again mate!
That Orange Boxwood (Desert Oak) really came out on the String groove overlays.
Top work.

Re: One for the ladys
Another great one Rob. Looks very" Retro". Love the steep fade angles and the forward handle. Well done!
Re: One for the ladys
Rob Rob Rob! You sure are raising the bar. this is one beautiful bow! Timber selection and lines are first class. Well done Mate ! On another note i might be heading up your way in few months to pick up a load of wood from a Lucas mill. Some to drool over!

Re: One for the ladys
Thanks again fellas.
This bow seems to have started a bit of a trend, the last two people that ordered a bow saw this one and went for the white theme. One of them is going to be literally black and white, made from Silver Ash and Ebony for the riser in a kind of zebra paten and Black Palm for the limbs, should be interesting .
Cheers, Rob.
