Blooded longbows
Hi all,
Me, Christov84 and Craig (not a forum member) went for a good hunt over the last couple of days.
Christov and I blooded our longbows.
Saw about 200 goats in 2 days, saw fallow on the property for the first time.
I saw pigs for the first time too. 2 big ones with about 10 little suckers.
Tom.

- First pig sighting. Very exciting. There are about 10 little suckers following these two.

Congratulations!
It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.

Good shooting.
Good to see the pigs are breeding well too with that sow looking a little heavy. There has to be a boar there somewhere.

Re: Blooded longbows
Tommo, the pigs are breeding heaps there lately. The owner took his first pig there 2 weeks ago since he bought the land in 1996. He has seen a fair increase in pigs and pig sign lately so I'm hopeful I can get to chase some in the future.
Re: Blooded longbows
Well done fellas That goat with the groovy hairstyle sure looks weird Hope to see you with a pig in the future
Re: Blooded longbows
Looks like you had a good time fellas, onyas! Nice A.C.S. Adcock your mate Chris has there, Tom ( Hope I'm right or I'll look bloody silly! ). What are you shooting? It looks the goods, too.
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!

Re: Blooded longbows
Thanks all,
The bow was made by a D.G. Albright from the US. He doesn't do it as a pro but he makes a few a year. I actually didn't blood it first. It's about 8 years old and afriend from the US sent it to me because he can't use it anymore.
It's Osage (brown with age) and Bubinga. 66" long and 61#@28. Best bow I've ever shot.
Moreton, that's Christov yeah. His ACS is 66" and 70@28. Cocobolo handle I think.

Thanks everyone! Yeah we had a ball of a time chasing these guys around. I thought I was addicted to this trad stuff before I got anything, now I can't stop thinking about it!
Cheers!
Chris
Lol it is true! His trendy hairstyle was his undoing. Let me get to within 5 metres of the poor fellow and I put him down with a shot to the heart.Stickbow Hunter wrote:Congratulations fellas well done!!! Re: Blooded longbows
Chris, I can tell you I have seen goats who must used the same hair stylist as yours and it wasn't the hair over the eyes that let you get so close - it was you using your bushcraft skills. Congrats once again.Lol it is true! His trendy hairstyle was his undoing.
