From The JOY Of Sharing A Friend's FIRST HUNT... (with a bow, he's been a fierce warrior/sniper for years).

...he's hunted man for years, but the same joy/wonder and thrill we all feel when ghostin' the ground with a bow was his... in spades! His name is SSGT Russ Clagget. Our other friend (standing with him) is Dave Mayfield.

You boys would find strong, true 'mates' in 'em both.

...we both did well that day. That jaunt was/is a special nugget of gold in this ol' LongWalker's memory.

Dustin' the "Haul Road" for caribou is something every man with fire-n-fletch should do. This is a short sequence of one of our outings (I'm behind the camera... where I belong).

Awesome shots CM!
any chance of filling us in on where those photos are? Sitting in my office cramped on all 4 sides by beige walls, that photo of you walking in that vast space made my day! Oh to see a horizon line!

I agree Gundy the last shot of CM's evokes everything thing we love about trad archery...

thanks CM

That's an excellent memory-grab, Jayden!

You take pictures of things that move your heart to trip the shutter... they'll be worth the keepin'.

Sackett once again fantastic photos. I see you are going to the COLORADO TRAD BOW CAMP please PLEASE take your camera with you. We don't have anything like what I imagine this would be like. I would really like to see your work from there as long as you get to have some good shooting and companionship as well.
Cheers TonyJ

Gee it'll be hard to top the efforts of Mr CM there, but here is a few from when I was in NZ hunting last year. I'd give a few pennys to be there right now...

My hunting partner and close mate;

Image

2nd day on the hunt, a rabbit and a hare for the pot. Note to self... only shoot BH's at hares, Hex blunts = blood thirsty cape buffalo charges, only smaller!

Image

And here is a pic of my Isobel, on a hunt last time I was home. Tracking the spoor of a Dingo she is. Kids eyes are sharp as when you show 'em something new.
