Ozbow Photography Competition
G'day Everyone,
Please place your entries for the competition in this thread. The details for the comp are as follows:
The subject must include some kind of Traditional Archery item. It can be as simple as a photo of your arrows, shooting at the range or a shot taken while out Bowhunting; it’s up to you. A little explanation about the photo wouldn’t hurt either. The photo can be a favourite from years gone by or something taken recently.
The photos must be in focus and be well exposed. Also ensure that they are no wider than 800 pixels and preferably under 100kb in size (thinking of download time).
You can enter more than once.
Competition closes at midnight on the 30th of September 2008.
The winner will be announced in the first week of October.
The prize for the best photo will be one of Mike G's hand crafted armguards.
I look forward to seeing your entries.
Jeff

Nice!
Sure... you couldn't wait until the end of October so I can get back from moose hunting with a card full.

Re: Ozbow Photography Competition
Here is my attempt(s).
I took this photo during a rest break on a pig hunt a couple of years ago near Texas. I had reached the top of the mountain and was watching the clouds move into the hills. I thought it looked great and took a photo with my bow and Akubra. Enjoy.
I guess this could be regarded as a 'traditional archery item'.... You dont get much more TRAD than this baby! My Treeman 5" hunter - soon to be fitted to a back quiver...

Donkey vertebrae; Grizzly broadhead from a 60lb Martin recurve.
It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.

Re: Ozbow Photography Competition
Yeah, Rossy, it was an interesting hit. He was quartering away. In hindsight, I think the arrow must've destroyed the liver and only one lung (which was poking through the off-side), as there was a brilliant patch of blood straight away, and he only made 20 or 30 yards before falling over. I put another in him to make sure, but it mightn't have been required. If you look closely at the picture before, you can see the arrow in mid-air having just exited the off-side.

Re: Ozbow Photography Competition
I've just cropped that photo a couple of times, and blown the new images up.
Here's the archer:
And, here's the mid-air arrow that did the job:
Cheers,
Ben

Re: Ozbow Photography Competition
Actually, my mate Tony Jensen took that photo. He had a story in the last Archery Action magazine. He is a good photographer, alright. If that photo happens to win, I'll make sure he gets the armguard!
