What do you think

I know there only carbon's but what do you fellas think of this fletching design. I only did one up to see how it looks first, but I think a set would look good altogether in the quiver.
I got the idea from the Masters of the bare Bow DVD where I seen a set roughly the same.
No cock feather but sometimes you have to think outside the box.
What do you recone?

Are they quiet?

Not that quiet Jindy they do make a little noise probably due to the height of the feather but will only use them for club shoots as There's a little bit of time spent on each one to good for hunting shafts.
Thanks for your reply.

They look like they have over eaten. :D Good colours but they would look nicer on a wood shaft. :P

Thanks fellas. I spiced them full length first then the little chopper in the 5 inch high back bannana. After that cutt half an inch of the tail and line them up in the centre before gluing.
Yes Jeffro it took me about an hr a shaft but Im pretty slow with these old eyes.
Will get a six pack of them done and post a few pics.

I'll get a little practice in first on the splicing Jeff and yes the next ones will be on wood. I hear you have a little Doug/FIR just hanging around in your shed doing nothing. You could always just cutt them up into 12mm billots and send them up I would be glad to make some arrows up for you.

Cheers Wayno

Well was busy on the weekend doing a few sets up. Some carbon, some wood, some spliced and some plain.
The spliced set turned out well. Jeff Remember those D/Fir billots I got of Keith at Gladstone which originated from your back yard shed well these are those. Me first hand made shafts, I painted them as well just to keep them all Traditional for you, the size ended up a little between 23/64's and 11/32's but spinned out at 70#. 160GRN tips and 610grn total. They fly like darts out of me 65lb Recurve.

I love em Wayno, I been playing with shapes too due to my feather burning fun. When your not too concerned about noise or efficiency one can get quite creative :)

Wayno,
Nice handy work. They look great. Do they have a cock feather like the carbon you were playing around with.
Cheers,
