Since you only have 12 feathers and you dont want to walk far I think your only choice is to wrap them around the shaft. I much prefer, and use, the same set-up as Rod though.

I have worked it out and can put 6 bits on each arrow so 4 fletched normal and 2 wrapped should do it.But if it doesnt I will shoot first and Rod can pick mine up when he goes for his.

Hi Kimall
The spiral fletched arrows pull up a lot shorter, as I have made both tytpe of Flu Flu,so I would make them to save some walking.
cheers

yep spiral toilet brush types stops as it leaves the bow just about :)
the other option with limited feathers is to fletch 3 as per a normal arra but just slightly fwd up the shaft. so that behind them you can wrap a length of feather around the shaft forming a disc.

kim,
clinton miller uses one full length feather twisted around the shaft and said that works for him. this would allow 12 flu flu's or 6 spare feathers for another time.

make sure we get pics when you're done

I shot them tonight a few times and at 18 yards about the same as normal arrows but at 20 starting to drop fast so we will see I guess.I have no experience with shooting toilet brushes so I will compare them to others on the w/end.

Kim, you can shoot the entire comp with toilet brushes if you so desire.

Thanks Daryl can I swap between the two types because I had a guy at a comp winge one time because my arrows didnt look the same with differant fletching types. It is not a big deal just asking because these flu flus on the close targets are like darts and the others might be better on the longer ones.

Kim,

The following is from our trad rules.

1.4 ARROWS.

• Wood Arrows and feathers only are to be used in all divisions.
• There are no restrictions on the feather length, point weight or the adhesives used in their construction.
• In the Traditional / Primitive division the use of historic methods of arrow construction is encouraged.

A wonderful example of how rules should be written. Top marks to the people that did them.
