new bow

#1 Post by ichiban » Sat Sep 26, 2009 12:10 pm

hey all i have a new bow!!!! its 70" tip 2 tip and draws 50lbs at 28", as im sure u all know i have built many bows in the english style, but this 1 i get to keep! ok anyway hickory back, spotted gum core, and a boo belly which i tempered. the handle and tips are of purple heart. the interesting thing about this bow is that the hardwoods take up less than a third of the limbs depth for the most part, its a hair less than 1" wide at its widest and its just unbraced set is only 2" and resting set is 1", i think that the tempering of the bamboo is responsable for its low set (low, under the circumstances). ill post pics when i have a chance.
