I use Selley's Quick Grip.
It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.

i use tarzan grip..........Rod
Re: leather on shelf
can i use any glue..eg epoxy, pva??
Re: leather on shelf
I wouldn't be using epoxy as you more than likely damage the finish when you remove the rest to replace it, I wouldn't use pva either, but having said that I haven't used pva myself. I have always the hobby glue C23 and have always found it to be very good, I use C23 for feathers as well but it does glue the leather very well...Glenn...
Re: leather on shelf
Is there any other way without using glue that works...(eg double sided tape)??
Re: leather on shelf
I use Selleys contact adhesive and when the rest is worn out it comes off real easy.

Where do you purchase yhis from??
Re: leather on shelf
I use double sided tape - the thin stuff, not the foam - and it seems to stick pretty well. Also means I don't get glue where I don't want it. Haven't tried to get it off yet. Could be a whole new lot of fun.
Regarding contact adhesive, most hardware stores carry it.

The loop side, not the hook side I assume. How well does it work?

The loop side mate, works real well, very little friction between arrow and riser, they last me about a month and are super simple to replace, I buy the round spots (about 20mm dia) and trim them to suit, peel the old one off and stick the new one on.
Cheers Lindsay.

Re: leather on shelf
I use balsa glue but only have a strip on the upright surface with nothing on the rest area.....you really do not need it imo.

Yer, I think this would be the way to go for me.
Re: leather on shelf
You can buy the Selleys contact adhesive from Bunnings and similar hardware stores,I buy it in small tin of about 200 mls because I use it to glue leather pouches before stitching as well as rests on bows.

Re: leather on shelf
I've always used the basic white wood glue for leather. Currently have a piece of seal hide (with hair) as a rest and it's been on there for almost a year.
