Bamboo ELB
Colleagues - this is a bow I made for William, my young bloke - from vertical boo board. Its backed with 2 layers of calico and he wanted a leather wrap, a shelf and even talked me into tip overlays of antler. The string is twisted linen. Bow itself is 52" and shoots about 18#@20"
The young fella shoots a bit to the right as you can see - but he is working on his left to right alignment.
Arrows are 8mm pine dowels.
I made 10 of them and what did he say: "When are you going to make the quiver?"

It looks great mate and the young fella looks right at home shooting it. I like your arra holder as well.

Thanks for the comments Chaps - but again - Kimall is the guy who should have the rap - that thread on using bamboo - fantastic. I found that once I had measured it up and cut the profile out on the saw it was practically tillered - just checked some spots with the digital caliper - corrected with the sandpaper and away we go.
That arra holder is usually used for the wife's parsely

Well done mate it looks great at full draw too and the young fella has real nice form.It wont stop with the quiver either wait until he sees some footed arrows and spliced feathers it will all start again.
No rap needed at all it is a crime not to pass on skills to others, that is how these things are kept alive.I just love seeing kids shooting bows that fit them and there is no reason that someone with the interest cant make them from these boards.
Well done cheers KIM

Cheers Kim
Started another last night- for the missis. She wants something Deflex-Reflex - so will back with hickory and glue in form.
Probably have the backing 2mm to 1mm tapered
