solo stalker style bow quiver - self made

#1 Post by looseplucker » Tue Jul 21, 2009 1:05 pm

Probably not accurate to call it a quiver because they only take one - but the Solo Stalker that Skookum do look pretty good - but me being me I like to make stuff. Has anyone else out there had a crack at making this sort of thing?

nice, i think clinton made a similar thing that attached to the head of his bow quiver to carry a spare broadhead.

i could never go out with one arrow. it would be too much pressure for me, and i'd be likely to miss the first shot or see multiple game :D

I would still have more in the back quiver - its just for a back-up shot.

This is one I made a few years ago, 3 arrow capacity. Worked pretty well but I have misplaced the bottom section.

Cool - thanks Steve - trusting you are well?

I have an old mudflap at home which I think I can fashion a doover/doohickey/widget for the bottom end.

This is to go on the takedown I made that is coming to the US in September. I may buy one over there, but I am enjoying making all the bits and pieces.

Hi John, My bottom section was made from stiff leather with holes punched just under arrow diameter and cut so I could slot the arrow in while maintaining security.
Yes I am well :D . Steve

Did you slot the nock into the holes, or were the holes punched and then the leather slit with a razor blade?

I was thinking of using the rubber, which is quite thick, drilling a hole just under arrow size and then cutting out a small wedge.

I will report back.

Hi John, I just punched the holes and cut the slit with a razor or good scissors. A tyre or thong rubber would be good and probably more durable for extended use. Steve

Thanks Steve - Food for thought either way. I have a good piece of rubber from a mudflap which will serve nicely. I'll post pics when done.

Did you attach your lower part with thonging? I may see if I can cut a piece out and then just slide it up the lower limb to the appropriate spot.

As this is for the takedown I guess I am being religious about making sure that everying on it I've made myself.

Hey John, I just used the same method as the top section, A slot that was cut just under size of the limb cross section. Steve
