I do have enough elm to make at least two bows, so given that the first one survives the second can be used to make a Holmegaard. Given mydraw weight limitations to the mid 40lbs the limbs in each case will be a bit narrower than the originals, but they can both be the same width. Really like your comment re for every achievement you make it poses new questions. From my limited experience so far, that seems to me to be one of the great attractions of getting into the challenge of making self bows.

Not aware of golden elm round Yass but very possibly there is. Is there some round Canberra?

yeah theres heeps of golden elm in canberra the trick is finding where there are a fair few trees in a small aria so they grow straight.
