So I agreed to swap a draw knife for some osage some months ago but a pinched nerve in the neck has kept me out of the shed until now.
Got this finished today so will be in the mail soon to the new owner. I hope he is happy with the deal.
Cheers KIM

Some nice work Kim, I can see a few tons of shaving coming of that for shore. Always good to see what you've been up to in the shed mate.

wish I had one as good as that when I just reduced three osage staves to a single ring last week . Took me 6 days to complete the 3 staves. Damn rings were very narrow and nearly went cross eyed chasing each ring. All good in the end, sitting on my drying rack now to season.Good work Kim.

Draw knife arrived today thanks Kim. Gotta say it feels lovely in the hand, really nice and solid feel with a good balance and has that quality old school feel.

Easily whipped off some shavings on an osage log for gits and shiggles and reversed the blade acts as a nice coarse scraper. Just a pity I'm about to lose all spare time for a few months but will attack some staves/logs in the cooler months.

Many thanks again.

looks nice and should work well , if you dont mind me asking what type of steel is in it as I was thinking of making 1 out of an old car leaf spring

The following link may give you some ideas for your project.

Can you put your location e.g. city or town in your avatar?

Thanks for the nice comments guys The steel is from an old sawmill blade and should be something like 1095.
I have made a lot of knives from this blade and know that it hardens just right for a nice fine edge.
Leaf spring would work for this too but if it is old it may have stress fractures you wont see until after heat treat
and a polish. This is of course AFTER all the hard work getting it to that stage.
Cheers KIM
