This is a a bow I've recently finished for a clubmate. Third one in this design although only the second with the reflex. Timbers are Tas Blackwood/ celery top pine riser. Antler primitive arrow head mounted on upper riser.Belly lams are Tas myrtle.Bow is 48# @ 28'' and is 66 NTN. Very quiet and smooth to draw.

Bob, that is one strange looking handle for a longbow, I just can't get over it. (but I will, for I think I have seen a picture of Howard Hill Shooting one, I must look into the books again.)
  But I do like the look, you put into it with the timbers that you have used.
well done.

Thanks Bill. I think the one you might have seen with Howard Hill. the limbs go straight through , basically a 'normal' HH style bow that has been inverted so the riser sits on top of the limbs. These models with the recessed grip [ forward of the limbs] really impart a feeling of stability to the shot, and make it much harder to induce hand torque to the shot. Odd looking but very effective and a pleasure to shoot.
