I remember reading on here some time ago about the bamboo shafts that people were having some success with. I am wondering about a few things:


Where do you get them?

Are they cost effective?

Are they consistent/tough/spine well etc. etc.



Would love to hear from those who have tried them and and their results.

As an aside - if one was to grow bamboo specifically for making arrow shafts what species would be the best choice?

I have used bamboo for hunting and trad shoots and love them.
Price is good and they are tough.
Just had a look on ebay were I got mine and the seller has not got any listed, but if you email them I have found he will get back to you with what he can get.

Japanese Arrow Bamboo (Pseudosasa Japonica) can also be used to make Fishing Rods. Looks like I'll have more than enough info to get me going now.
