Couple of 'curves.

#1 Post by bigbob » Tue Jul 21, 2015 5:30 pm

Haven't posted any bows on here for while so decided to whack these up.One is Osage /Red Box with osage /wenge limb veneers on belly and is 55# at 28'', the other is Purple heart/ Bubinga and Zebrano belly veneers. This bow is actually available for someone as it came in over weight on an order and is 58# @ 28'' . Both are 62'' takedowns and they come with stringer , allen key, custom string by our own master fletcher Steve Wallace and written warranty.

Bob, you have been busy, well done.

I've just had a longbow come in overweight, had planed for 50# and it came in at 60#. At least it was a bow for stock and not an order. Eventually someone may want a 60# longbow.

Yeah it's a bit of a worry Daryl. I used a known stack, miked everything, sanded a thou or two oversize off the glass, even flipped lams to even out any small discrepancy and yet way over.
Thanks Rod.

I was just about to post some pics of my latest T/D and spotted these two stunners.
Beautiful work again Bob they just keep getting better and better. Love the shape of the flair and contrast in the Osage/Red box.

Osage is pretty thin on the ground in these parts  . (if you've got some spare lying around I, be keen to do a swap for some thing I have access to, such as Black Palm, tulip Oak, Conkerberry, Gutta-percha, Black and Red bean, QLD Walnut or even a little bit of Orange Boxwood ;) )

Great work Bob.

Follow up. took this bow to trad shoot and used it second day shooting about 55 arrows out of it. VERY happy with performance, fast, hard hitting smooth on the draw with no sign of stack and very accurate. It punched an arrow with no tip half way through a 3 D turkey and even after 55 arrows I had no sign of fatigue even at the 58# which is 10# over my own personal bow. As a foot note it is also now SOLD.
