Recycled Recurve....Another Yew tri Lam.

#1 Post by mikaluger » Sat Apr 11, 2015 5:15 pm

Hi Guys,

Here is another bow I just finished. This was spliced handled ELB......but alas the splice failed and it returned to the wall....Until last week!
I cut the limbs down, planed of the sapwood and got a new flat surface, then remarked and cut a new splice and glued her up. I then used dry heat to bend in some recurve, prepared a hickory core and pole bamboo back. I really like this recipe. And glued her up with a little more reflex than i used on the last recurve. Bow has come out exceptionaly well, and is an excellent shooter. I think I have found my new target/3D bow.
45 @ 28", 64"NtN. hickory and buff horn splayed overlays.
