Knocked up a jig, and first string.

After much head scratching, Googling, and watching Youtube vids I made a jig and had a crack at making a string. Here's the jig:

I ended up using 12 strands of D97 and Halo 0.021" serving. The nock fit is just right I think.

I'm making one for a mate, but need to work out how to build in a subtle fault...Just something that will give me the edge next time we're on the range!

Cheers,

Dave.

Dave,

Quite a sturdy string jig, is it adjustable?

The loop serving looks extremely neat, well done.

If you are going to make another string jig I have some photos of the Artan Adjustable Jig with dimensions. If you are interested I can put them up on this post.

Daryl.

Thanks. It's telescopic and will handle anything I'm likely to ever need. If I need to make a string for a ...ahem...compound  , I'll just make a smaller one.

well done mate, if you could build a string that would take the creaking noise away......

From you, or your bow? I think I can make you a reasonable string, but I'm not a miracle worker!

looks good. do you serve the entire loop and end serving in one go or do you serve the loop and the end serving separately? i serve the whole loop in one go.

any reason for 12 strands other than nock fit?
