One for myself.

been impatiently waiting for this timber to season so i could try it in a bow of my own seeing as I was currently without. Had intended going for 45# but arriving at a good tiller and performance with 48# decided to forgo any extra work in bringing it down and left it at 48#. Haven't had a lot of shots out of it but is very accurate and pleasing to use. I'll see who guesses what the timber is [ NOT you Dan as you have prior knowledge!] suffice to say it's one of the most stunning timbers I've worked with and its a native wood as well.It is a 60'' one piece which i call my 'Banshee' mode which is proving fairly popular.Photo 2 is a little darker than reality but others are pretty much right.Fitted with a custom Astro flight string from Wallace Woods as are all my bows.

Bob, the timber has an interesting grain pattern and pleasing colour variation.

Well done,

Daryl.

Good try but no chocolates! Big hint is its a native fruit tree.

Looks very nice Bob. Lovely tones in the wood. I wouldn't have picked it for Burdekin Plumb as all the stuff I have seen has been a lot darker.

thanks Rod and Jeff. It is 100% burdekin plum Jeff, from a limb that came down in a storm in NQ. Might have been a younger tree perhaps.

I wasn't doubting you Bob; just making an observation. It certainly is a pretty bit of wood and put to great use!!!

That's spectacular Bob, great piece of Burdekin plum, never seen such light tones in it. Puts the slab of BP I have to shame, very little feature in my piece.
Great work Bob.

Thanks Rob, never having used Burdekin plum before I never knew just what to expect but absolutely love the figure in the little bit i have.Probably only got enought for one longbow and one recurve left out of it but this one's mine. Took it to our club today and very happy with the way it performs too.

Gee thanks swami, I appreciate your comments, now all I need to do is shoot it half as successfully as you do your wheelie bow
