Here's a couple I knocked out recently, when asked which timbers they would like, the clients both responded with requests for the colours of certain animals. I like this idea because it gives me a palette of colours to work with.
The timbers in the first one are inspired by the wedge-tail eagle.
Stats; Flatline MC2, 62'' n-n, 45#@28".

The outside of the riser is Black Gidgee and represents the colour of the bird in general.
The inside of the riser is Sandalwood and represents the colour of the undercarriage of the bird.
The grip overlays are supposed to represent the eyes. Conkerberry and Aust Ebony.

If I ever tire of my longbows and semi-recurves and decide I want the recurve of my dreams, 'the Raptor', I'll know where to get it.
