Barambah raffle bow.

#1 Post by bigbob » Thu Apr 11, 2013 11:30 am

To help foster the interest in Trad events I am donating a bow to the Barambah club to be drawn at their next event. The flyer is on these pages. It came in a lot heavier than I anticipated, the reason for which I am at a loss, being a good 6 - 8lb heavier than calculated. Therefore it is a 46# at 28'' instead of the anticipated 38# to 40# which would have been suitable for more people. It is still a nice looking bow and I'm sure who ever wins it will be happy with it. I am not sure yet as to how people will be able to purchase tickets away from the actual shoot but I am sure they will advise on a method if people not going to the shoot, will be able to purchase tickets.Courier costs along the East coast would be around $35- $40.
Riser wood is Black wattle and the centre accent is White paperbark, with 'boo core, and belly veneers are black wattle spliced with zebrano with osage trims.Nocks are osage on white phenolic. The bow will have a new string made and donated by Steve of Wallace4 woods, your premium arrow craftsman . Hope the raffle is well supported.

Thank you Jeff. I hope to do the same again to another club either late this year or next. I have already informed that club of this.Might just go to somebody contemplating getting involved and would be a great help.

The bow will also be a special bow bag as created by me, along with a string keeper.

I shall find out from the club how people can purchase away from the shoot.

Thanks Scuzz and Steve. I just feel that the hobby has given me motivation to get up each day and reckon that it might get to help some one who'd like to try trad but didn't have the readies a bit of a hand. If it goes to some one who's already involved then thats great too 'cause one can never have too many bows!

Just spoken to Barambah club members and tickets for the bow will be $2 each or 3 for $5. Tickets will be available at the shoot but for those maybe not going but who would like tickets they can be purchased from Jenny at Barambah. Her contact details are on the shoot flyer on here, or locals can get some through me. My phone is 0429774613. Getting a fair bit of interest from club members here. Good luck.

Thanks Chris. Very glad you're happy with your bow and quickly learning how to use it with your 3rd at Nth Albert. I know this bow will make some one very happy as it is great to shoot and comfortable in the hand.
