Tapering machine question
Hey fellas, when your using a tapering machine like Forros do you have to make adjustments for different sized shafts, like say 5/16th up to 11/32nds, or is it one size fits all? If you do, how?
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!

As for you Tom, mate you need to see someone about this thing you have for my shaft(s). Either that, or start making your float for next years Mardi Gras!

Re: Tapering machine question
Hi Moreton
I have one of Forro's tapering machines and it will give you near perfect tapers everytime. It is a bit of a pain to set up though. I find that each time I want to do something different, whether it be point tapers or nock tapers, it must be tweaked to get it exactly right.
I use small pieces of shaft offcuts first when making small adjustments. I keep on fussing around until the nock or the point that I intend to use fits the offcut perfectly, before going into full production with the rest of the shafts.
It takes a bit of time, but the results are worth it.
Mick

There is no use focusing on aiming if you don't execute the shot well enough to hit what your are aiming at.

Re: Tapering machine question
i've got mine set up for doing tapers for the 190 ribbies,i dont use it for anything else because i have no patience even though there only minor adjustments,to change,do as Mick suggested, you'll get the hang of it.....
Re: Tapering machine question
Cool, thanks fellas.
Just to try them out, I'm using the same sized Ribbies myself this trip, Rod. Although they may be a bit heavy for my bow. Maybe 160grn would be better but we'll see!
