Not sure if jewelry fits in here.
My daughter graduates from Primary school and with that comes the americanised graduation ceremonies and dinner dressup.
I wanted something special for her from me for the night so this was it. At her request pretty but down to earth, a tear drop on wood. I used jade, well ok fake jade, sliced it shaped it engraved the S and placed it on some Ebony Makassa? id been saving for bow nocks.

Again things to learn. First time I have used micromesh for sanding/ polishing. This is amazing stuff, Im in love with it.
I used an old lapidary trick I learn't in previous life, of hot gluing a stick(arrow shaft off cut) to the "stone' so I could hold it whilst shaping polishing it. Worked like a charm.

Photography is rubbish as usual, it just dont do macro work :( The colours in the "jade" are gorgeous when the angle changes and is set off by the darker wood and its luscious grain.
Damn hard working with such small thin pieces but the girl was ecstatic and fumbling fingers dad was happy enough.

A one of a kind and no doubt something your daughter will cherish. The Ebony really shows up the green. Would love to see some better photos of it mate. :D

Hey Mark,

That is absolutely gorgeous - I see an amethyst necklace in her future, and while you're at it....mmm.... sapphire would be nice.. :D

Great work as usual.

cheers

dont mention the camera, its a sore point at the moment :) I hunted high and low for a camera like GA that would fulfil my desire for high speed and Shannens thirst for SLR work. Cant find em for love nor money and she is getting impatient :lol

thanks for the comments
