Bow makers in Caboolture
Hi guys
I was just wondering if there is anyone on here that has some experience in bow making
(by that I mean anyone that has even attempted to make a bow)
that lives in the Caboolture area of Brisbane
Thanks Justin
PS. PM me if you dont want it shown on the board

Do you want to learn how to make a bow i.e. selfbow or a laminated bow.
Daryl.

Re: Bow makers in Caboolture
ok sorry with you now
Im interested in all facets of bow making but i will prob start with selfbows
because im guessing they are a bit cheaper on both materials and tools & equip
I have "The Traditional Bowyers Bible Vol 1 and Im re-reading it at the moment
but thats about it other then poking round some of the old threads on here

G/Day Justin, I may be able to help you out. I'm at Morayfield. PM sent.
I also recommend keeping your options open for making a laminated bow with Greybeard. I'll suck up and so he's a very talented man who has a lot to offer.
regards Jacko

Re: Bow makers in Caboolture
Thanks Perry and Jeff for the PMs
Perry, I havent actually moved to Caboolture yet but will be in bout 4-5 weeks so I was just finding out what was in the area but once there and settled i will definately let you know.
Jeff, Yeah i saw you were in Maryborough, which works out alright I have family there and my wife has family in Hervey Bay
so when im up that way ill let you know.
As for laminated bows I definately want to have a go at them I just assumed that i would be better off starting with selbows
mainly for expense/equipment reasons some of the laminated bows i have seen on here are amazing.
I should propbably add that i have very limited experience in archery (i dont even know my draw length) but the experience that i have had has hooked me
