Newbie Question

#1 Post by murphyslaw » Wed Dec 01, 2010 11:02 am

Hi guys Im new to the board.
I have always liked archery but laking the funds to buy equipment I never persued it.
Then bout ten years ago now I came accross a book called "The Traditional Bowyers Bible Vol 1
which I have read a few times but lacking someone to hold my hand so to speak and help me out I never went any further with bow making but having now found this wonderful site and considering joining the local archery club my interest in both archery and bow making have returned with a vengence.
So finally on to the question, I have had a look around the boards and I see lots of info on everthing but Im having trouble
finding info on the very basics and getting started, so if someone could please direct me to some theads that would be great.

Thanks for any help and sorry for the long post
Justin

I reckon this'll do ya for a start mate. Most folk I've come across that make bows are only too happy to share the knowledge.

G'day and welcome to Ozbow Justin. I think you were meaning building an all wood bow so perhaps this thread (see link) will help.

Is the info in The Bowyers Bible still valid for Aussie timbers?

Again thanks
