what native timbers for a board bow?

#1 Post by muntries » Tue Nov 09, 2010 6:39 pm

I'm planning to have a go at making a pyramid board bow in the next few weeks and I would prefer to use native hardwoods rather than cheap smelly imports (like me) . Anyone have any ideas what the best timbers are? I know spotted gum is one but any others too (particularly Victorian species).

Cheers

Red Ironbark Is another I believe and if you do a search I think Dennis La Varenne did a thread about it.
