arra frustration and how I comforted myself

#1 Post by looseplucker » Mon Nov 08, 2010 5:13 pm

Agghghghg. Should have used a water based paint. Used a spray paint, sealed it with spray varnish, but by gee, Fletch-tite is a damn good solvent.....a bit untidy and wont post pix, yet.

However, my brother in law has asked for some bass flies to use over in the USA. So I skun up the attached.

Have tied a bunch of deer hair beetles and some other streamers (using some fur from a goat I shot and tanned). Will post shortly

I wouldn't really know a good fly from a bad one mate but they look fine to me.

I never use waterbase varish on my arrows. From the little you said I take it the Fletch-tite blistered the paint? If so, was the varish properly dry?

It did blister - and lifted the paint to.

Now seems to be OK -but a bit untidy. The varnish appeared to be properly dry.

That is an unusal thing to happen with Fletch-tite and varnish.
