Preying Angel Armguard

#1 Post by stringnstik » Fri Aug 06, 2010 10:51 am

Finished just in time for Dunolly :)

Hot off the stitching poney.

Preying Angel Armguard
First in the Birds of Prey series.
The Peregrine Falcon stooping.
Portrayed against a blue sky background.

First use of acrylics paints and inks on leather. First attempt at airbrushing too.
Also first use of antler for buttons :) Thanks Steve!

Lots of things to take away from this experience. Mostly how not to do it in the future :)

I designed it to hopefully to make it look as tho it has some depth when its worn. The natural curve and special shiny stuff was an attempt to make the wings look real.

Misread it at first [praying angel] hoping it didn't a bow string up the ring gear.

Very nice effort stringnstik. I'll be very interested to see how the acrylic wears. I would guess it soaks into the leather pretty well. Are you going to tool the designs and then use colour to make them POP, any of the rest of the series mate?

Good to see you / we are still learning from mistakes 8)
