Looking good :) Glad to see those "finger grooves" gone and a slimmer handle . Is it center cut ?
Me , personally , would like to see a matt or satin finish , rather than the high gloss one .

Not centre cut mate cant have a slim riser AND centre cut or you may get the top limb in the eye.
Thanks for the comments guys......

Yer you are prob right mate but I am still very much learning with each bow and am taking the downsizing on the handle a bit at a time.
Cheers KIM
PS The gloss will be toned down a bit when I cut and polish it when dry.

No worries Kim ,,
I just think it would be better if it was center cut , or at least close to it

Nice work Kimall, a cut back on that gloss should indeed make it about right. Bring out the colours of the wood even better.

Thanks mate I am happy with them and am getting better with each one I make.I wont be making anymore flatbows I dont think I have not given this one much testing as it is still hardening but even on the tiller tree they seem to gain weight more at the end of the draw cycle and the D/R has much more early string tension. This one shoots smooth and quicker than expected but I just feel that the design is not as efficient as the D/R.Still a nice little bow to shoot and it will make someone very happy I am sure.

I have always found the same as well. I have a mild D/R longbow-flatbow design I make and there is a nocitable differance in string tension with same poundage bows when compared to my more highly D/R limb design model. The mild design will not shoot the heavier grains per pound arrows as well either....Glenn....

Good to see your bow making going well - good on ya.

I couldn't see and specs on the flat laid bow in your posts but going by the photos the riser looks very long. Unless the overall length of the bow was also very long I am not surprised that the weight would come on later in the draw because of a short working limb. A reflex design will also give early string tension as you mention the D/R does.

Yer I agree Jeff I admit I am a complete novice with the straight laid bows and the riser is longer than normally would be the case with this style of bow.The bow was ment to be longer but I cut some off to get the weight up a bit.It shoots nice but I just prefer the D/R style.
