Nice to see you and your dad working together Lewis, good arrows, well done both. Did you print the stickers from a computer? I was thinking of doing that with some transparency paper.

hope, we bought them off some one, but i imagine that would work, but for safety, i would put it on before your finished giving it a finished, so then you can spray over it and seal it onto the shaft.

Those arrows look good Lewis. You're lucky to have a Dad who supports you so much. I will look forward to meeting you at North Albert and having a look at you archery equipment, bring along some of the selfbows you made so I can have a look at what you have built...Glenn...

Fantasitc Lewis, you'll be shooting, out bowyering and fletching us b4 you know it :) Great to see you and your dad making them together. It always feel special shooting soemthign you know others, especially family, have contributed too.

Jape, I have often thought about how to print on arras. Ive modified printers b4. Problem is their inks are rubbish and easily fade in sunlight.. not sure how it would go/last with a UV finish over them. However I have plenty of more pressing chores ;(

Depends on the inks. For Dye based inks they vary greatly in quality and fading resistance. Then there are pigment based inks - and they last somewhat well.

They will take some clear coatings - however, if you are using clear substrates then they may appear washed so I suggest you stick them onto a painted base.

I have problems with moisture penetrating the clear coating in wet condition and that does destroy the substrate. So it becomes a job of peeling then off and redoing them - or do not shoot them in the wet.

i like using the clear transfers the look really awsome in an old english script espesialy if you have a family name like fletcher (from my mums side but still) and if you have a family crest its just gravy.

glenn there is no way i would give up making bows, it is to much fun and its cool when you shooot a bow that you made yourself.

i shot the arrow (i can only use one(i have a bad history of braking arrows)) yesterday arfternoon. it shot the same as it did without the sticker and after several pass throughs and 1 ground hit, the sticker is still on there and is still good.

Lewis the new shafts look great. Congradulations to you and your dad. I like the printed names with the old style lettering.
I had some old ones with just me name written on them here's a picture.
But your lettering looks a lot better.
Give the cresting a go next time I think you will like it as well.
Keep up the good work.
