Is there any difference between the CA and R60? Or is it just a re-badging/new name/replacemen etc.?
Thanks
Steve

Re: Techniglue
Steve,
Including workshops I have probably constructed about forty bows and found Techniglue CA an excellent product.
The only downside was the shorter pot life and in a bow making workshop situation multiple laminated bows had to be done in two separate glue ups.
At that time I could only get the slow hardener, I had not heard about the super slow hardener.
As I have mentioned in previous posts I changed to Smooth On because of its longer pot life.
The charts state pot life at 25 ̊ C. ambient temperature. As temperature increases pot life shortens.
It may be advisable to find out if the super slow hardener is still available. Many years ago I spoke with the staff at ATL Composites and they were very helpful.

Re: Techniglue
Daryl
so the three names I've found (Techniglue CA, Techniglue CA Gel and Techniglue R60) are all the same product going from your TDS?
I would go with the smooth on, but my bow building may be curtailed severely shortly and I don't want to end up with a litre of glue I can't end up using (at $100 a pop), whereas the techniglue can be bought in smaller quantities. I also don't envision myself doing anything more than simple boo backing or a bit of splicing in the near future also so I think the pot life won't be too much of an issue unless I start laying up in the middle of summer.
Thanks

Re: Techniglue
I've used Smooth On for many years and have been very happy with it.
In the last 12 months it's been prohibitively expensive, so gave Techniglue CA/R60 a try. I've run two courses (8 students) and have made a few of my own and am very happy with it.
Whatever they call it, it's a good product.
