Exotic timber supplier in Brisbane please?

Where to source materials etc. Also the place to show off your new bow or quiver etc.... Making things belongs in Traditional Crafts.

Exotic timber supplier in Brisbane please?

#1 Post by rodlonq » Tue Feb 07, 2012 1:18 pm

I will be visiting Brisvegas this week and I have Wednesday PM, all of Thursday and Friday AM to do a bit of scouting for bow materials. I have work I can do as well but I'd rather be looking at exotic bow woods than sitting in the motel room writing reports on a laptop  . My better half is doing a two day course so I can sneak out during the day

Can anyone recommend a supplier (hopefully close to Spring Hill) where I might pick up some nice timber please?

Any other recommendations for must see places in Brisbane would be useful too. Thanks.

Cheers.......... Rod

Yeah Lazarides usually has a fair assortment of woods but I haven't been there for a lot of years now. You better lock ya wallet up mate as it is very easy to spend money in places like that.

There is a place called "John Gill-The Timber Man" at Cleveland near my place, but whether they would carry what you're after I can't say. I rang them once and they told me they had a section for "Crafts and artisan work" Their words, not mine.
If you're interested send me a P.M. and I'll come up to Spring Hill and pick you up and we'll go and have a look if you like.
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!
