Hey yeah Troy saw it myself the other night and with 6 days to go what will be the final figure, gold limb pockets and all. Wanted to make a bank withdrawal to cover it but I had to hand my gun in with the buy back, so was unable lol . Cars not worth pawning, missus is getting a bit long n the tooth [ she doesnt read this heh heh I HOPE], maybe if they give me a couple years advance on my pension.Where would we be without dreams --sigh.

My favourite comment on the Leatherwall forum was "I'd have to paint it to hunt with it"

They reckon anywhere between $10 000 and $14 000.

Maybe the guy at the bank didn't understand what a good cause it really was...

Nah Troy didnt get to show them a picture, cause they wouldnt let me near the place with .222cal under the wing to make the withdrawal with!

Guess it will spend its days locked behind glass somewhere which is fine by me as I'd be scared s@#%less
about marking it anyway if i won lotto and could afford it.

This Fred Bear signature number 030 offered has to be a real find IMHO. These recurves were under the personal quality control of Fred Bear who I read drove the build dept' crazy in his seach for build perfection as he personally inspected each one. I think I read somewhere Fred would go back to the factory at night and bandsaw any riser that was not up to his personal requirement. The last figure on production I saw was about only 160 made due to Freds death in 88. They had hoped to build 1000. I read the original idea also involved names such as Glenn St Charles. These guys are all icons of Archery and these bows are just not around selling in the past as high as 10K.

Rod... Number 30 a little bit of Fred now in Oz. Un- marked as new. Maybe fired previouslly but sure does not show it. Presentation box a couple of minor scratches but easily fixed. Not a mark on the Bow latches. Sure was a find. Already had a couple of em's from US collectors wanting me to confirm serial and condition ect. Maybe they thought it was knocked off

Yes guilty on this one Steve...always wanted a signature because I loved the Fred Bear story but... so darn hard to find. Crazy as it it may seem it will never be shot by me. As Troy says its a safe Queen. A bit of my gear is for nostalgia trips and lookin only.

Tom I gather that as pretty as they are Bear factory records show a few of the early ones had limb problems and with my luck

.

There is a guy in the US (Brandon Stahl) who makes limb replicas to use on the Bear signature riser if use wanted. So down the track the riser might see some action.

Thanks Stephen... as a Bear shooter yourself you would appreciate the buzz one gets thinking this was once in Freds hand.
After thinking about it (10 seconds

) I have now ordered some aftermarket limbs from Mr Stahl which I may have 2012 sometime. Could not handle the stress of shooting the originals.

If you get cold feet you can use my riser with the new aftermarket limbs
I only bring the bear out on special occasions now but seeing your new bow has encouraged me to take it of mothballs.

I just revisited this post....what can I say.

Well done mate. I am truely jealous and happy to see such a beautiful piece of archery nostalgia here in OZ....

I think regardless of an archers particular discipline or tackle choice it will be one dull of soul that will not give it an ooohhh and an aaahhh.

How many times do you look at it a day...BTW I'll be in touch when my lotto numbers come up...
