An unusual looking bow Guy. What woods are used in making it and also does it have clear glass on the limbs?

Simply stunning.

Very beautiful - what does she shoot like? :)
You can expect a lot of people wanting to have a test shot at a trad gathering.
Cheers

Very nice looking bow. I'm curious. Since the bow is 58" in length, what is your draw length? The reason I'm asking, I've always liked the looks of these type of bows, but with my 30" draw length, I worry about finger pinch.

That is a pretty amazing looking bow Guy :) Cant wait to see it in the flesh.
Does it shoot as good as it looks?
Any chance of a full draw picture? Steve

It's like looking at the bow of a King..

I have saved the pictures to "My Pictures" on my computer...honestly I can't stop looking at this bow. One of the most beautiful and interesting bows I have ever seen.

I hope to one day see this bow in the flesh as well.

Troy,

Check out the link that Grahame has posted... Lukas work is absolutely exceptional... And it also preforms...!

Steve,

The bow does look fantastic...! and it is even better than the pictures in real life... Rob and I did some testing on it the other day and we managed some good speed out of the bow, although Lukas said to me this design wasn't his quickest, but by no means was it slow.... the bow was exceptionally easy and smooth to draw, quite on release and no hand shock what so ever... here are the speed test results we got with glove release...

~ 11/32nd Footed Wallace Wood @ 565 grn 170-175 fps ( 10 grns per pound )

~ 5/16 carbonexpress @ 525 grn 180-185 fps ( 9.3 grns per pound )

~ 5/16 beeman carbon @ 450 grn 190-195 fps ( 8 grns per pound )

All of these arrows came out nice and I wouldn't hesitate using any of them...!

Nightwing,

Check out Lukas website http://www.salukibow.com and look at his FAQ,s link.... he has a diagram on there that explains why these designs don't get finger pinch... or drop him an email, he is very easy to talk to and he will answer all your question promptly... :D

The riser is Bloodwood, the tips and the overlay are Ipe.... the limbs are all bamboo and the inlay and limb nocks are white phenolic.... and yes the it is clear glass on the limbs....

What a uniquely beautifull bow, with what looks like a very comfy grip, hows it shoot?

Nice full draw photos. Just curious. I noticed you have string silencers on your bow. How heavy in grains are your arrows? I'm asking because I shoot 637 grain arrows out of my 42# @ 30" Blacktail and because of the very heavy arrows, the bow needs no string silencers.

Looks great Guy, also looks like it could handle a couple of inches of extra draw to get the most out of it.
I take it you are going to hunt with it too? Steve

Nightwing,

The string silences were put on there by Lukas and I just haven't had a chance to play around with them yet.... I will do some experimenting with silences over the next few days.... I like to shoot around that 10 grns per pound mark... I feel I can shoot both hunt and shoot field at these weights...!
637grn out of a 42# bow is huge...!!!! but I guess if you are not shooting field courses and hunting under 20 meters, then those weights are very expectable.... I would think if I shoot a 15 grn per pound arrow out of the Saluki would be dead quiet, thus not warranting any string silences...!!! 8)

Steve,

I will defiantly be hunting with it... hopefully sooner rather then later....!
I think Brad will get some extra performance out of it when draws it to 29 inches.... but I am not quite sure I want to give him a go... He may stretch the limbs out too far...!

Cheers Guy
