Horn source?
I'm looking for horn for horn nocks/tips; it's proving harder to find than I'd have thought. Where do people get theirs? I've found goat horn and antler tips in pet shops, but that's not necessarily a cost effective way of doing it, at $10-12 each... abattoirs are not returning my calls yet... and so many cattle now are polled, too... and we're in competition with people who want to stuff cow shyt in horns and bury them by a full moon or something for hippy fertilizer... Where do we get the stuff? Stupid thing is, I grew up with hereford cattle and merino rams; if I'd known then what I know now...

Longbowshop UK is where I usually get mine from. They sell Buffalo horn tips. Most times one piece in large enough to split and get 2 bow tips from.

If you're willing to go the non-traditional material, acetal (delrin) rod has successfully been used, and is quite affordable.

Haven't tried it myself, but it's on the list.
