New Knife and Sheath
G/Day Folks, I bought this big Knife cheap a few Weeks back. Its a Columbia Brand and made of 440 Stainless. It takes and holds a Scary Sharp Edge. I certainly don't need it but my first thought was its an opportunity to do some Leatherwork. As a Rule I don't like big Knifes, too unwieldy to use when Processing Game. Back at Camp they have their use's, cutting Vegies, Roasts etc. This Knife is heavy and I did not want to make a Belt Sheath and have it banging around on my Hip so I made a Shoulder Harness Sheath for it.
It is set up as a Cross Draw Sheath, it rests beautifully under my Right Arm. As usual I used 3rd Grade Tooling Leather, the good stuff is just to expensive and besides I like the Flaws in the Leather, adds Character. I wore it for a couple of Hours last Friday when I finished the Sheath. It's very comfortable and convenient to Carry and Draw. The Sheath sits nice and close and would be unnoticeable under a Jacket. I have NO PLANS to carry it anywhere outside a Hunting Trip
regards Perry

Looks like a comfortable shape handle on the blade Perry. not much I can say about the leather work as it is always outstanding. I have a similar length knife I use for knocking out pig jaws but it is strapped to my day pack as you said they are to heavy to carry on the hip. Good to see you back into the leather work.

Really nice looking sheath there Perry,
Great job on the stamping....My efforts usually turn out like a dogs breakdfast.
I have a similar knife amongst my collection and they do indeed hold a scary edge......
I like the shoulder sling they are comfortable, versatile and provide good quick access.
Nice work.
Regards...Pete
