G'day,
Does anybody happen to know if Art Young wrote any articles in "Ye Sylvan Archer", and if so, do you also know in which month/s and year/s? Also, how would this correspond to the Legends of the Longbow series, should a fellow wish to track-down any volumes containing articles by Art?
Cheers,
Ben

Did Art Young write any articles in "Ye Sylvan Archer"?
It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.

It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.

Ben,
an Google search came up with the following form Stickbow.com;
"The first truly successful magazine totally dedicated to the sport of archery, with a huge emphasis on hunting with the bow and arrow, was Ye Sylvan Archer. The first issue of this magazine was May, 1927. In the pages of this magazine you can find articles by bowhunters who later in life became superstars in the sport, such as Howard Hill, Fred Bear, Art Young, and Roy Case. But you can also find some very special articles by people who later became famous in other facets of life, men like Earl Stanley Gardner, the creator of Perry Mason. What a wonderful little magazine this was. The fact that it lasted until the middle of the Second World War (1943) attests to it’s popularity among readers."
To answer your second question, dunno..

Ben I had a look thru volumes 1 & 2 and only found an advert in november 1927 magazine for Alaskan adventures with Art Young. I have not looked thru other volumes because they are still sealed in the delivery bags unopened.

Thanks, Matt!
I just found that Art didn't write any for YSA. TradGanger Falk, from Germany, went through each with a fine-tooth comb! Art wrote several for Field and Stream, and one for Collier's.
Cheers,
Ben

G'day Ben!
If you ever have any questions on Archery History, THE source is Cliff Huntington down in Louisiana. You can probably locate Cliff from TradGang pretty easily.
