New Job

General discussions. Politics, scuttlebutt, whatever: you're getting married, changing jobs, got a gripe or a compliment, dying to get out with the bow etc.....

New Job

#1 Post by looseplucker » Tue May 06, 2008 12:32 pm

I have moved to a new job - on the outskirts of a minor industrial estate in Canberra. Not ideal for a public servant position -most like to be in 'the triangle' or town.

The parking is ok, and its only an extra 10 minutes or so each way.

But its walking distance to the hardware shops I frequent - and the Archery Supplies place - just across the road practically.

I believe I will survive. Dunno about the credit card limit

Not that much of a minor industrial estate  . Life is really tough when you are within walking distance of Archery Supplies. Hope you are good at resisting temptation  .

In the words of Oscar Wilde - "I can resist everything but temptation".

When I informed the leader of the opposition she rolled her eyes  , and then, knock me down with a 5" parabolic, asked me to make her a bow!

While I am more than happy to oblige, I sense a cunning plan. But  , at least I now have more than enough excuses to go an get some more spotted gum, and bamboo, and POC shafts, and fletches and field points and.....everything

Sir - you wound me.

Not the least bit interested in that kinda thing - I mean, if you are hungry, why would you watch someone cook a steak?
