Apparently the bloke that makes Chek-mate bows has gone A.W.O.L.,Terry, or so it says at the Chek-Mate site-

http://www.recurves.com/news_events.html
Bloody big shame if he's decided to give it up, hey?

Added hours later-
I just realised it says hit KIM up, not hit HIM up! I thought your were talking about the bloke that made it! Man, I must look like a lunatic sometimes! :P

From what I can work out reading that link, Darren, apparently Chad was the dealer for Chek-mate archery , but a chap called Marc actually built the bows. Whatever, they are a bloody good bow. It's sad to see one in that condition your is in, big loss, Bud.

Condolences mate your have my sympathy. Just remember the soul may be reborn 45 days ( after ordering of course) in the form of another. So you too can share Kimals keen spirits of a visit from the mailman with a package.

Now boys I see how you may think I may be lacking in compassion but have you not seen the adds on tv about organ donors you need to put the emotions aside and think clearly at a time like this and let the organs(limbs) go to another family member in need. They will let another live on..
Cheers KIM

Condolences, I have lost two in similar fashion in my family and even today it smarts and can occasionally get a little dust in the eye when you dwell on it. keep the organs on ice and pray for a successful transplant with a caring surgeon to ease the pain.

Speachucker, may we all remember the freedoms he fought hard to maintain and bow our heads in silence for one minute every year on the anniversary of his tragic passing.

this sort of thing saddens my heart, I have never been a fan of Euthanasia but seriously Kimall and the rest of you.. give it a break..oops i mean put it down would ya ..sorry i mean have a little compression at this time of great tension. Its had a great life, why drag it through a lingering painfull and indecent and drawn out finale. Its gone out in a cracker, the last throw of the dice... do not patch it and condem it to a half life of what once was..

burn it and stick the ashes on the windowsill:)

Now after much condemnation and dispersions about me having no heart  I have an idea. Give me the riser too and I will make a nice hunting knife with the timber from the riser on the handle.(Which you will prob break too). That way it will live on forever(until you lose it) and I wont be racked with quilt. So there see the little lump of coal in my chest just smoldered a bit.
Cheers KIM

It's only broken, it's not gone - we have the technology to create artificial limb attachments - go with the good glue and tech screws, and may it live on.

cheers

Any positive thoughts on why it broke and have you done an autopsy on the deceased.

Sorry for your loss my Friend.
She was truely a great part of your life.
She just waited around to be picked up and used at your will, A true lady you might say.
The memories together out in the bush can never be replaced by any ILF cold hearted steel my friend.
She would be glad I think, to know it came quick and fast, a little like yourself - she told me.
May her memories come to the fore by the camp fire at night and bring happiness to your heart,
Then, when remembering you may shed a little tear, but what's that - the HUNTSMAN is now here.

A true Loss for any bowhunter.

May she R.I.P

Yep Chad is/was one of the main dealers that chekmate used, while Marc took over the company quite recently and was apparently moving workshop etc. I had an order for a Kings Pawn recurve and after 18months the bow hadn't been started and Chad had not heard a thing from him (I think he's a member here so he'd probably be able to give a better answer if he's still floating about). I cancelled my order and ordered a Toelke bow but before I did Chad mentioned that a number of other dealers have also had supply issues but one other hadn't so he's still making orders and seems to have dropped the others, I even heard something about Marc designing a series of new bows etc but that is as much as I've heard. Poor form really from a business and trust point of view and especially from quite a well respected company
