Legislation in Qld?

General discussions. Politics, scuttlebutt, whatever: you're getting married, changing jobs, got a gripe or a compliment, dying to get out with the bow etc.....

Legislation in Qld?

#1 Post by Nephew » Fri Sep 14, 2007 11:57 am

I have been trying to find relevant info regarding any kind of licence you may need to own a bow in Qld, and so far have had no success. Like a lot of people I made a few mistakes as a younger man(nothing involving violence) and wonder if this precludes me from owning a bow. Can anyone help to inform me on this subject?

Hi Moreton, currently we are lucky that there are no restrictions on bow ownership excluding crossbows where a restricted weapons licence is required.
If we are respectful of Laws we should be able to keep the priveledges we have. Steve

No licence required.
But I do suggest that you join a archery club.
they will help you choose the right equipment, work out your draw lenth, etc.
Also they will require you to join an association thus making you an insured archer.
In what part of Gods country are you located :)

As the others have said, no licence required for a bow and arrow.

Moreton, how about filling in a little of your profile so we at least know what part of the country you call home. :D

Sorry 'bout that, fellas, have filled in some more. I am going to Belmont Range which has an Archery club this Sunday to try it out, but am planning to join North Albert Field Archers in the near future. Thanks for the info.
