Worker's Compensation- for sex?
To the Bush Lawyers something to ponder.
In the Sydney Morning Herald -today July 28 pg 8
"Work trip sex normal, says comp lawyer"
A Commonwealth employee was injured while having sex in a hotel room.
The injury- to nose ,mouth and psychiatric trauma.
How- when a wall mounted oyster lamp in the hotel fell on her head during the act.
The injury occurred as the woman had to stay overnight as she was attending a budget meeting for her employer.
This is an appeal against the injustice of a decision by Comcare(work and safety) and the Admin Appeals Tribunal- which found that sex was not an"ordinary activity" during an overnight stay.
Her legal representative said-
The employer should have informed the employee that having sex on a work trip was not appropriate behaviour or through a
list of rules such as a code of conduct.
The counsel opposing- "there was not sufficient connection between the incident and what the woman was being employed to do.There is nothing about this that could have led the employer to reasonably conclude that injury might occur".
The Court will decide in the next week or so.
Regards
John

Re: Worker's Compensation- for sex?
Obviously I am in the wrong profession, did this woman claim compensation for the tear in her fish net stockings? I guess her husband knows now maybe he will want to go on junkets too
I must say I do quite a few over night trips out through Bathurst , orange e.t.c never once have I been offered sex
Though I do figure a married man well over 40 with a large bald patch fat ar$e and absolutely no dress sense probably has all the sex appeal of a bucket of $hit! Keeps me safe from temptation I guess!

The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is no where as important as being able to place it in the correct spot....!

Theres no reason what so ever that it was her duty to perfom said acts as an employee, she did it out of her own choice, therefore no compensation can be recieved...pretty silly stuff really..
A smile is priceless, yet can make so much difference
Re: Worker's Compensation- for sex?
Yes - should not have been heard in the first place and going for an appeal. The System pays for the waste of time and space.

This whole thread and all to do with it is insane!
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!
