I made it from a 5mm thick circular sawmill blade I picked up the other day. Hugh blade 1500mm diameter. I'm not sure what steel it but the first test piece did harden well with fine grain structure. They say you shouldn't use mystery steel but you can make a decent knife and I think it's fun and interesting. The handle is made from Turpentine, Tallowood and Danta with a Tru oil finish. Blade was heat treated in my homemade gas forge and ground on my homemade 2x72 belt grinder. I acid etched the blade to to show the grind lines but I think the high Nickel in the steel prevented that from working too well. Thanks for your interest.
