Re: quivers
I use a Selway slide on 6 arrow bow quiver on all my bows. You get use to the extra weight quickly so the only drawback I find is the small amount of arrows.

Outstanding Captain, love the video too mate. I was a bit surprised by the degree of penetration with a 55lb bow. Just goes to show you don't need really high poundage bows to get results.

Yeah Sue, I was a bit disappointed about this one. I was looking forward to it as it was my old stomping ground. I'll definitely be at the Charity Shoot next month.

G'day Colin, I use Pack n Send for all my longbows. I've never had a problem with them and they are pretty cheap too. They usually charge around the $60-$80 range for a longbow anywhere in Australia. And I've never had a problem with the bows getting to the customers. They're pretty quick. Stuart Ra...

Re: What Pens best for writing on Bow??
G'day Muz, I use a white paint marker called 'Uni PX-21 Paint Marker White'. I got it from Officeworks and the smallest it comes in is 1.2mm nib. It cost me around $4.00 and works very well on fibreglass. Just make sure you clean the fibreglass first where you intend on writing or it won't stick. Ra...

Thanks for that everyone, I've never used fletchtape before, I've always been worried that it wouldn't stick as well as glue.

Stuart, Andy, correct me if I'm wrong, and if you believe my wife I'm wrong more often than not, but don't you have a bit of trouble glueing feathers to enamel paint? I tried it when I was starting to make my own arrows and the glue just appeared to melt the paint and the feathers didn't stick. That...

Muz, looking good mate. I was told once before that a strip of carbon in the bow will give it approximately 5lb of added weight.

Re: Questions about carbon
G'day Rob, I used a piece of carbon in one of my very first bows. I didn't know much about it and was told by Bingham Projects (who I bought it off) to put it directly under the fibreglass on the back of the bow. They also said that it would give the bow an increase of around 5lbs to the overall dra...

G'day Bjorn, there's plenty of space to camp too mate. They usually have 2 or 3 ranges plus the broadhead range. Novelties include the hunt, speed round, rolling disk, flu flu and running pig. You'll be glad you came, it's a bloody good shoot.

Thanks very much chaps, I was very happy to bring the buck down quickly especially being my first deer.
Wayno, I make my own arrows and get the parts from John McDonald. The bow quiver is a Selway longbow quiver. They're very good and work well while hunting.

First Fallow Deer
The other day my next door neighbour contacted me and told me that he was out looking for a young Fallow buck that he had wounded with his rifle, which had then taken off towards my place. He lives on 4000 acres and I'm on 2500 acres. It took a while but we found the young buck in one of my bush pad...
