I don't think that little knot will cause any dramas. I look forward to seeing the bow progress.

Can't help you with the time line Daryl. I'm sure someone will come along and give the bow a new home.

Re: Hi All
Welcome to Ozbow Dean. Things are pretty quiet here these days as a lot of people use Facebook etc. There is a lot of information on here and if you have specific questions just ask as I'm sure one of us will be able to help.

Re: Bamboo Backed R-D Bow Questions.
Thanks Jeff. I know technically it is indeed a deflex reflex design but so few people call it that as saying it in reverse rolls off the tongue better. But yes deflex through the handle and reflex towards the tips. Few people use the term now days but it doesn't make it right and it just leads to c...

Re: Bamboo Backed R-D Bow Questions.
Sorry I can't help you with making your bow as I have no experience with making one of that type. Hopefully someone who has made a similar bow will reply. First up you need to clear up if you in fact want to make a bow with a reflex/deflex limb design or are you really meaning you wish to make a def...

Re: FF V DACRON
Ian, one way to check the difference is to try and cut an end strand with scissors; the FF won't cut, or be very difficult to cut, but the Dacron can be cut relatively easy. I found with my glass composite longbows DynaFlight 97 gave an increase in arrow speed equal to a bow with a five pound heavie...

Congrats mate you have done well. To me it looks like a bit of a flat spot about mid right limb. I'm sure you will enjoy shooting it.

Congrats on the bow mate; well done. Just to my eye that left limb seems to be bending too much just outside the handle. I hope you have many hours of fun shooting it.

Re: Pig Hunting advice
Have you tried late afternoon as they come out to feed? I have found it is a good time to hunt them. If they have been hunted a lot they can be nocturnal so leave their beds and go to bed in the dark. All the best and hope you have some success soon.

Things have been pretty quiet on here of late Dave so it is good to see you post this up. The limbs have a nice bend to them. I too look forward to seeing the bow finished.

Re: Bamboo Backed Red Coat
For some reason I get so much more satisfaction in making and taking game with woods... That's it mate; same here and I have no desire to try those syntharras. By the way I’ve been using the 3 blade Woodsmans on all my deer and small game hunts... I’ve been finding them to be very effective....

Re: Black Hunter Longbow on Ebay
Thanks for the replies, as for calling it a longbow in the advert they call it an everything bow . I noticed that. :) I have a short draw only 26 1/2 so should be safe there and thought of using it for shooting carp, cheap clunker to chuck in the canoe and not worry to much about. I think it should...
