FS- Meindl Taiga GTX boots
got some meindl taiga GTX boots for sale. they are in very good condition i'd say 8 out of 10. vibram soles, goretex lined for waterproofness. no leaks. great boot but they are too small for me now. my feet seem to have gotten bigger with age and my toes are too cramped in them now. only worn about ...

Re: CIRCULAR TILLER BOWS AND DRAWING AN ACCURATE BACKING BOA
ok, so it bends in a circular pattern just a shorter portion of the limb.
so this is for selfbows? obviously laminated bows bend alot differently.

Re: CIRCULAR TILLER BOWS AND DRAWING AN ACCURATE BACKING BOA
is there an advantage to a circular tiller? obviously bows tillered on either end of the spectrum from a circle still work. mollegabet for example. is it more of an exercise in replicating period bows? i guess i'm used to working in a trade were accuracy counts. that amount of discrepancy would be s...

Re: CIRCULAR TILLER BOWS AND DRAWING AN ACCURATE BACKING BOA
i guess the other thing one has to consider is the bows aren't shot like they are tillered as pictured. the fulcrum might be closer to the top limb tip and the point on the string were it's drawn would certainly be closer to the top limb tip. this is one thing i've never understood. why are they not...

Re: CIRCULAR TILLER BOWS AND DRAWING AN ACCURATE BACKING BOA
For those who don’t know what it is, a radian is that length along the circumference of a circle which is equal to the length of the radius of the same circle. Every circle has a circumference which is 6 radians long or the length of 6 radii. The ends of any radian are 60 degrees apart from the foc...

Re: CIRCULAR TILLER BOWS AND DRAWING AN ACCURATE BACKING BOA
2. CIRCULARITY If a bow is to have a circular tiller, then the arc of the limbs must form part of a circle which has a centre point. The length of the limbs must form a definite proportion of the length of the circumference of that circle. Also, the depth of the curvature at any position along the ...

Re: Townsville District Bowhunters Club traditional shoot
Bring extra arrows Any arrows. If we kept it to woods we'd have about 6 participants. Ha ha. ^^ this was precisely the point of my posts in the warwick event thread. makes me wonder if that's why it was cancelled. good to see an event that welcomes and encourages all those in our sport to participa...

greybeard- could you use those first dimensions for a molly, while keeping the tip section stiff of course? also, the top limb is an inch longer?

i awoke a boy. i go to sleep a man. primitive fire.
started my 1st primitive fire today. i used the bow drill method with rawhide cordage i made. the hearth board was green wattle, the spindle was black cypress and the bearing block was an old bone. the tinder was stringy bark.

Re: Warwick Spring Wallop 19 / 20 Sept 2015
it's a shame that carbons aren't allowed. it discourages participation for the many that shoot and hunt with carbons, IMO. surely they can be in their own class.
numbers participating is more important for our sport.
rant over, i'm off for a hunt.
