Re: Takedown 62" 50# @ 28"
Thanks Lb Rod. Yes Glenn, I did use 1 tapered and 1 parallel in the core. I was think that if I bend the recurves a bit more ,it would give a bit more of response at release. It would not be as fast as a estatic recurve , but would give the bow that extra bite in the first moments after the release....

Re: Takedown 62" 50# @ 28"
No , I haven't but it is a good idea .
I wouldn't need to make another riser.
Just two small wedges inverted under the limb butts.
Thanks for that Daryl.

Re: Takedown 62" 50# @ 28"
Hey Jeff. The bow is a Bingham desig. I got the plans some time ago but started doing it 3 weeks ago. Typical Bingham's , 2 canadian maple core laminations between black glass. Rose wood wedges. Riser is a mix of bamboo flooring, rose wood and kwila. I have never been on a hunt , shoot only at the c...

Re: Finished my 1st 3 piece Recurve
Nice work I got my plans from bingham as well and am just going to get the material for two bows , one single piece and one take down . By your pictures and your comments , I can already have an idea of how heavy the bow will be (I will be making a 58" take down) . I was thinking of using a com...

Nice bow.
The white glass makes a good contrast with the handle.
Good glue lines as well.
Good on ya!!!

about the bows
The bows in the pic are sitting on the off cuts of their handles. The first one is maple core pams in black fiberglass. The other is Tassie blackwood in black and white fiberglass. The last one that is on the finishing stages is maple in black fiber glass covered with veneers of jarra and zebrano . ...
