Re: Meditaranian or three fingers under
And to the gap shooting vs instinctive I switched my style to shooting with one eye and sort of gun barreling the arrow to now shooting with both eyes open and just looking at where I wish to hit. I no longer look at the how or arrow at all. That is the problem with re learning to shoot. Gap shootin...

Re: Meditaranian or three fingers under
Hey guys. I'm not limiting myself to just the one distance, iv only just sealed from shooting gap to instinctive and I am slowly building my confidence up before goi g to the next step. With gap I used to shoot out to 65 metres. As I would lose a dry arrow at this point with instinctive I'm building...

Re: Meditaranian or three fingers under
iv noticed when shooting 3 under all the bows are much louder, I assume its as you say Daryl that tiller makes a big difference to the noise made. I don't think it makes much difference to arrow fight though but that might be just me, anyway after switching back to Mediterranean style im not going b...

Re: Shooting the longbow ( Flat bow ) compared to the recurv
Well after fileing the rest closer to centre and canting the bow ( which I think was the main benefit. As I held it straight befor ) my arrows at hitting exactly where they need to be. I have to admit shooting the longbow is a totally different game. And to those who shoot well with it, I take my ha...

Re: Shooting the longbow ( Flat bow ) compared to the recurv
Thank you guys, iv decided to do a bit of bare shaft tuning to see if the arrow are under spine but I have also made the arrow rest closer to centre to see if this helps. I just have to wait two days now to apply all the finish back to the bow and re yest but will try canting the bow slightly too to...

Re: Shooting the longbow ( Flat bow ) compared to the recurv
The arrows I'm using are specifically for the longbow. They are very weekly spines compared to the recurve and I got the impression it was because the recurve was centre shot but the long bow isn't.
Does it help to canter the how a little?

Re: Shooting the longbow ( Flat bow ) compared to the recurv
The arrows are spiked correctly for the bow. And there is no contact with the riser when shooting them. The DVD is a good idea and I will give it a go. But to be honest Im pretty happy with how I'm shooting out to 45 metres. I have no problem getting groups it's just not as close as my recurve. But ...

Shooting the longbow ( Flat bow ) compared to the recurve
After shooting with the recurve for 6 years and finally got a long bow iv noticed that shooting this is a completely different aft for. The first thing I noticed was how quiet it shot compared to the recurve, secondly aiming is a completely different ball game. You can't aim down the shaft as in gap...

Well I'm going to stick with split finger over 3 under from now on. My groups are better and I'm able to get that extra 20 metres out of my shots.

Re: String silencers.
I have fur silencers on my bow and it doesn't make a single sound. It's the quietest thing iv ever shot. I think like others have said a heavier arrow works and I think if the riser wood is a heavier one it helps absorb a lot of the vibration/noise.

Meditaranian or three fingers under
For te last 5 years iv shot 3 fingers under. I was taught to shoot meditaranian style but found three under much more consistent. But now iv just recently given the meditaranian style a go and have improved yet again dramaticly. I'm not sure why but my draw lengh has slightly increased too. Only hal...

Traditional Wooden arrows VS Carbon or Aluminium
So iv only ever shot carbon and aluminium arrows.
