looks a little stiff for the first 8-10" either side of the fades, and the tips look a little stiff too.
im sure dennis, perry, yeoman, and jeff will give you a good idea

the latest creation(!) from R.A.G Leatherworks
gday, made this sheath for my fiskars axe. I hate the look of this axe, but its the best hatchet ive ever used. the teflon helps it sail through the stickiest redgum. which is a hard, hard wood. better than wetterlings and gransfors for the hardwood, because of the teflon. the steel is just as good ...

Re: Long bow arrows - spine ect
welcome, all the best with it.
I loved my mamba, it was only 55lbs and gee it was quick! your bow must be a beast! my tips got destroyed by fastflite string, the older mambas dont have phenolic tip overlays and fastflite just cuts them to bits
cheers

Pse sequoia
Made by ragim, or ragim wolf bow.
They are pretty decent bows. I have one 68"ntn. Its actually no worse than a 58" recurve in the bush. I hunt godforsaken blackberry thicket I might add

Tom I've got a pse sequoia which is made by ragim. It's a good bow especially for the money. It's bamboo cored, with nice cherry limb veneers. I put a leather grip on it too. It's 50lb at 28 but we tested it out to nearly 30 and it doesn't stack at all. It's only about 51 at 29 I've been thinking ab...

If you have 4" feathers, put 4 of them on. That way you don't have to worry about aligning the nock, since there is no cock feather. Popular with big game hunters is the 4 fletch , for this reason I believe

G'day I have a 50lb longbow, mild reflex/deflex it is not cut tol centre, it's about 1/8" before centre. Your mamba is cut 3/16 past centre. I shoot .500 spine carbons, 30" long. I draw 28" . I'm using gt hunter xt shafts they are hence very light arrows and very quick, will be good f...

i get port orford cedar shafts from the archery shop for $3 each. not much point sifting through bunnings dowel when they are about $2 each. of the POC shafts, half broke so they ended up costing me $4 each for the ones that are still good (not to mention the wasted feathers) i buy blemished Goldtip...

good to see people getting some mileage out of this. I am lucky that my local archery shop prices very reasonably and I would not import anything he sells, first I wouldnt save much if anything and second Its nice to be able to see, touch and feel things. the big BUT is that trad is small here and y...

There is a company called myus. Their site is myus.com.
They provide you an address in Florida, which is their warehouse. They forward freight to you, at very cheap rates because they negotiate such huge quantities.
It costs 70 bucks to get a bow here upto about 2.1m
Cheers

Bad news on the Mamba and Stotler [ i always wanted a Stotler ........ its a sensational bow. mine is the elite so it has bamboo and carbon lams. the handle has phenolic in both planes (front back and left right) but unfortunately the timber cracked (lifted a big split on the back of the handle.) i...

Re: Thoughts on a Fred Eichler Buffalo
on the semi-recurves or reflex deflex flatbows, i have a Cari-bow Slynx on order. pete ward tested its shorter (wolverine) and longer (peregreine) cousins and found that with a D97 string, he got 193fps at 9gppp (450gr arrow, 50lb bow). Im not that fussed about a few fps here and there, but that is ...

Re: First traditional bow
when buying an entry level bow, there are two really important things 1) the arrows are more important than the bow. once you get your draw length sorted and choose a bow, talk to the archery shop or ask around here or an archery club about arrow tuning. carbons are a good option because they are du...

Re: Thoughts on a Fred Eichler Buffalo
wishsong, the recurve that had a limb failure was a Howatt Mamba. the limb tip split because i used Fastflite on a non-FF bow. (archery shop made a mistake there) My 72@28 stotler gamegetter elite snapped through the grip. I fixed it, and put it through some extreme testing to make sure. the limb bo...

Re: Thoughts on a Fred Eichler Buffalo
Yeah seems like you had the same experience as me. The buffalo isn't a bush bashing bow in my book. Blinds and tree stands maybe. Too fragile and complicated. I only trust solid, one piece bows with action wood risers and phenolic or horn tips. I've had fancy laminated hardwood bows snap through the...

Thoughts on a Fred Eichler Buffalo
I put quite a few dozen arrows through this bow the other day. here's what i fouind 1) the owner of the bow told me to use a stringer so i didnt pop a limb out (an ilf quirk?) started thinking this maybe isnt a bush bow 2) holy crap this thing smokes an arrow! 3) this is the loudest bow i ever shot,...

Re: Damon Howatt (Martin) Hunter recurve 100# @ 28"
You won't get this bow to 29.5 mate. It would be well into the 120s. That's a lot. And a massive step from the heavy longbows you're shooting. I shoot 75@28 and this was a huge step. I can draw my bow plus my wife's 30lb bow at the same time, and this hunter is still heavier and harder to draw. It i...

Chood It's a beast. It doesn't get worse or stack at 27 or 28, it just ramps up by 10lb per inch from 24 all the way to 28. 1000gr arrows are a piece of cake for this bow. 700 gr arrows are like dry firing the bow! 1300 to 1500 grains no worries. You'll be knocking over 3d targets that's for sure!
