Re: Vale AndyF
Andy, saw you only a couple of months ago and was excited with the prospect of you moving to the Mountains. You were one of the good guys, always smiling and happy. People gravitated to you.
I am glad to have met you and called you my friend. You will be sorely missed. Steve

Re: LAminating a wooden stave
Hi Feral, you would have to make sure the grain isn't violated if it is to be un backed other wise yes if you want to back it with bamboo or the like. You may have to taper the laminations. Steve

Hi matt, they go on pretty easily being like a heavy inner tube they are pretty flexible. I personally dont like a bow handle that is so grippy if you know what I mean.

Hi mick, cordovans tough and slick but I always stuck with the blackwidow tabs for economy. Consider trying some slick serving materials like what is used on compounds and Olympic recurves, I think you will be surprised. Steve

Hi Daryl, I have found no difference in using the lamelle panel to cutting up the flooring except the extra cost. I have only used the Peerless bamboo flooring. Cheers Steve

Re: Hickory, Fibreglass & Sinew?
I would be inclined to lay the sinew onto the hickory with a reverse braced string and allow it to shrink and pull into reflex then add the glass or horn. Maybe try to source some Buff horn off ebay and make it authentic rather than use glass. Cheers Steve

Re: fixing a riser
Hi Jim, seems to be a weird crack. Not following the grain or at a join. Do you have a better picture? Does it go right the way through the riser? It may just be a flaw/drying crack that didn't become apparent until after finishing and if that is the case it could well be sound as is. Cheers Steve
